The Hawks travel to Suffolk tomorrow to take on Bury St. Edmunds in their first game of the 2018/19 National 2 South campaign. With the team having done the double over Bury last season, it will be a very different looking side to the one that took to the field for the game against Redingensians back in April.
Finishing last season in a disappointing 9th place, the Hawks have recruited well in the off season and with new signings, Rory Mason, Sam Lunnon, George Wood, Sam Randle, Leo Webb and Liam Goodison all set to make their competitive debuts as Henley players, there has been a real sense of anticipation and excitement over what the new season will bring. The side are also buoyed by the return of Jake Albon to the second row following a long term injury.
The midfield will see a new centre combination of Conor Morrison and Xavier Andre which worked well together against Ampthill in the pre-season friendly. The familiar faces of Joe Butler and Sam Portland will also be aiming to provide some dynamism behind the scrum.
