Hawks aim to bounce back against Wimbledon

Another side making their first ever appearance at Dry Leas this season will be current basement side in National 2 South, Wimbledon. Despite a difficult start to life playing level 4 rugby, the South London side have been galvanised in recent weeks with new additions to their squad, which has seen them pick up three consecutive home wins on the bounce. Victories over Bury St. Edmunds, Redruth and Clifton last Saturday has seen the Dons climb back into contention to escape relegation back to London & South East Premier and they will be further looking to bridge that gap this Saturday afternoon against a Hawks side that have shown patchy form in recent weeks.

Henley will know that they should have won last weekend’s contest against Barnstaple and will be itching to get back on the pitch to make amends. Despite winning comfortably at Wimbledon, 55-26 back in November, they need to put together a complete performance to come away with maximum points on Saturday. To that end, the squad is bolstered by Alan Awcock returning to the side at centre with Simon Perry taking his place amongst the replacements. Jack Robinson is preferred to Sam Portland at wing and amongst the forwards, Brad Cook starts at loosehead with George Primett at tighthead in a new-look front row. Captain Jake Albon is named on the bench following an injury that ruled him out of last Saturday’s game at Barnstaple.

Big thanks to Gary Evans from GD Evans Interiors who are the Match Sponsors for tomorrow's game.
