Henley RFC stalwart, Keith French, sadly passed away on 10th November and his funeral, for those who would like to attend, is to take place at 12.15 pm on Monday 26th November 2018 at Reading Crematorium, All Hallows Road, Caversham, RG4 5LP. The service will be followed by a gathering at the Rugby Club from around 1.30 pm.
Keith joined the club in the early 60’s, when he came to live in Henley, after playing at Staines RFC. He quickly established himself as a 1st XV winger and scored many tries with a good turn of speed and determination – never taking a backward step. He played in teams that travelled to Le Havre, when the Club visited the French outfit. When veteran rugby started he played in the over-35’s matches.
He was a regular at the monthly Black Horse get togethers of veterans and enjoyed the reminiscing and banter.
He will be very sadly missed by all who knew him.
