Clive Alpe Obituary

We are very sorry to report the death of one of our longest serving members Clive Alpe at his home in Farnham on Saturday June 24th June.

Clive was one of the Old Henliensians who founded the club in 1954. He was first XV captain in 1957-59 and was captain when the club moved to Dry Leas in 1959. He served on the committee for many years and in 1973 he moved with his wife Valerie and their young family to live in Farnham and he helped establish the Farnham Rugby Club mini and junior section and served as chairman for several years.

He continued his membership of our club and was a regular supporter on the touchline. Clive and Valerie had recently celebrated their diamond-wedding anniversary and our deepest sympathy goes to Valerie and their children Susan, Gavin and Nicholas as well as their grandchildren.

There will be a cremation and service at Aldershot Crematorium at 1:30 pm on Thursday 20th July with a reception afterwards at Farnham Rugby Club.
