Pre Match Lunches

Before every home Henley Hawks home game we run a 3 course lunch at Dry Leas to which everyone, members and non members, adults and children are welcome. Come and absorb the pre match atmosphere where you will enjoy good company, a preview and insight of the day's teams, an update about Henley Rugby Club's news and events and most importantly lots of fun.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our food, catered by 81 events and we are committed to providing an outstanding service. Lunch is £20 for adults and £10 for children (under 10 years old). Prominent lunches throughout the season are our Henley past players (HOP-IT) lunches held twice a season, Ladies Day, Christmas Lunch and our Sponsors Day and we strongly advise booking in advance to secure your place.

Lunch menus are updated the week prior to the home match in the Events Calendar and bookings can be made with Mary in the office by calling her on 01491 574499 or emailing

All bookings must be made by midday on Thursday before Saturday's match day and the club reserve the right to ask for payment in advance.

Please see the events calendar for further information about upcoming lunches, menus and dates for your diary!

Captains of the Henley Hawks past and present

Captains of the Henley Hawks past and present

Over the years we have built a reputation for providing a first class venue for everyone in the town and beyond to enjoy their rugby. From mini members and their parents to our successful women’s team, to our semi-pro Hawks outfit, we are a club that is built on clear foundations of contribution to the local community, where everyone is welcome and enjoys a good time.

Henley’s floodlight Dry Leas ground on the Marlow Road boasts one of the finest pitches in the country, with many representative matches played there such as the Under 21s World Cup. The ground is also currently home to Wasps A and Wasps Academy.

In addition to a gym and all weather Tiger Turf there is a well appointed Clubhouse with bar and catering facilities for events small and large. Barely a stones throw from the river, Henley Rugby Football Club reflects everything one might expect from the world famous regatta town of Henley on Thames.

The club maintains a fully inclusive playing structure covering the broad spectrum of a contemporary rugby club and has around 1000 members. There are currently 5 adult teams, including women’s, and 12 junior age group teams for U7s to U19s. There are around 400 mini/junior family memberships each year

Henley Rugby Club is strongly town focused; in the rugby season over 2000 per week use the facilities and we also support many local Henley events. We have strong connections to other sports clubs in the town, cricket, rowing, hockey etc. and are members of The Henley Partnership. We also have strong commercial links to local businesses many of which sponsor and support us in a variety of ways. We are proud of the support we receive from our sponsors; Crest Nicholson, Invesco Perpetual, Savills, Bremont, Savile Row Travel, Phyllis Court and up to 50 local businesses including retailers, pubs, restaurants and the schools community.

200 Club

The 200 Extra club is a group of Henley RFC Supporters who kindly donate a small amount of money on a monthly basis for the chance to win cash prizes.

It is called the 200 Club to represent the number of supporters who are entered into the draw.

How does it work? It is very simple – you do nothing!!
You pay £5 per month via a standing order into the 200 Extra Club account.
You are then given a number and if it is pulled out in the monthly draw, you win a cash prize!

The Prizes

2 x £25 per monthly draw
2 x £50 per monthly draw
2 x £100 per monthly draw

How it is drawn?

Numbered balls are drawn from a raffle drum by an invited guest monthly at pre-match lunches before Henley Hawks home games - an incentive to join the 200 Club and attend pre-match lunches.
The 200 Club draw continues out of the playing season and is made around the middle of the relevant month. A ball is eliminated once it has been drawn

The Friday Club

The Friday Club is a small group of volunteers which meets at the Clubhouse every Friday morning soon after 10.00am until lunch time. Our job is to try to keep the grounds clean and tidy, undertake minor repairs, paint the clubhouse and offices, clear the site of rubbish and do whatever else is necessary and within our capabilities. We work hard but don’t bust a gut and make time to enjoy a bit of “craic” and each other’s company.

We believe a well maintained ground enhances the image of the Hawks and impresses both sponsors and opponents. Furthermore, everything we do saves the Club money thereby reducing its costs, which is crucial for its continuing success and much appreciated by the management.

If you think you can help, please contact Alan Staines (01491 576922) or Mary Worsdell (01491 635350).
